| Skipped a day of work with a friend to try out some newly made tackle. Turned out to be an amazing event. This was only one of several landed pike over 15lbs that day. It was caughts at the edge of a weed bed abutting a large sandy flat that fell into a deep drop off. The walleye were hitting non-stop and the pike were heavily feeding in the area. I only had 8 lbs test line so the fight wasn't really up to me! I just tired him out and cruized him in after 15 or 20 minutes. What a battle and what a beast!!! released quickly and never weighed. |
