| Gaaf Alif Atoll, is one of the remotest fishing spots i the world, so few of us Maldivians even have visited this area. Theres are 100
islands in the same inthe crystal clear lagoon. Just outside on the reef egde i lowered my metal jig in to the crystal clear waters. The depth was around 150m.As soon as i stared to jig from the bottom, there was a strong pull, my rod bent like it was made of rubber. Fought for around 20mins before the fish showed itself. A wonderful catch this Rusty Jobfish, a member of the Lutjanidae family, which lives at a depth of 50-100m in sandy bottoms, their man diet involving crustaceans and other sand dwelling invertibrates. |
